About 123OUT

The first offline to online social network, 123out was created to solve a common, modern social problem: connecting many different groups of real-world friends, easily, online. 123out bridges the two worlds by connecting people to the bars, clubs and restaurants where they hang out to the other people who hang out there. The network features include photo and video sharing, event planning and calendar functions, RSS, Word press.

123out Enables Users to Expand Social Lives, Explore New Places,
and Meet the People Who Go There, Online

A first-of-its-kind social network, 123out. The online/offline social network is dedicated to connecting users to their favorite clubs and bars and the people who go there. The site’s initial focus will be on building a user community in the US, with worldwide roll out.

123out grew out of the observation that most of us have one group of friends in the offline world, and a different group that you interact with on social networks. One group of friends you hang out with in clubs and restaurants and a separate group you interact with on MySpace or FaceBook. It seemed to us that there should be a bridge between the two—a true offline/online social network.

Unique Architecture and Features Reflect Offline/Online Nature of Site

123out is built along three fundamental dimensions: Profiles, Places and Events. Once users indicate which bars and clubs, they frequent, their photos show up on the Place page of that establishment and they become part of the community that goes there to share photos and video, trade comments, plan events and in person meetings. 123out has over 900,000 place pages representing the most popular drinking, clubbing and socializing establishments in the U.S. Event pages enable users to see what’s going on in their area or publicize their own event. Profile pages give users a place to share information about themselves, feature their favorite people and places, make plans, upload video and more. In order to create an open social network, 123out allows users to import feeds and data from other social networks, and export feeds from 123out to other networks.

123out Keeps Users Connected with Their Favorite Places and People

123out is designed to connect people with their favorite places and friends and events before they go out, while they’re out and after they return home.

Before they go out:

123out helps users scope out what’s happening and who’s going to be where with features like a social calendar that aggregates friends’ plans into a single view that can be exported to a users’ MySpace or other social network page. 123out VIP status will offer special promotions at participating clubs and bars.

While they’re out:

123out will soon introduce a mobile suite that includes group text messaging, so users can alert friends to changes in destination and keep in touch throughout the evening.

After they return home:

Users can upload photos, video and display text messages from the night on their Profile, Places or Events page to relive the night’s adventure.
